HONOR bands

Students in Symphonic Band, Wind Symphony, and Percussion II must audition for one of the Honor Bands below. If a student is accepted into the honor band and chooses to participate in its performance, it may count as a quarter project.

All State Band

All-State Band is considered one of the highest honors a high school musician may receive. Students who make it will perform at Abravanel Hall in January with the finest young musicians Utah has to offer. If selected, students must organize their own transport to these rehearsals and performance.

Audition Clinics are available at multiple sites.

All State Jazz Band

All-State Jazz Band is considerably the most professional and fun music experience available to students in the State. Students who make it will rehearse with Jazz Legend Kris Johnson and perform for all Utah Music Educators at the UMEA Midwinter Conference in St. George on February 3rd. Students who make it must arrange their own travel accommodations.

SUU Honor Band

SUU Honor Band is an incredible experience gathering hundreds of fine young musicians across the state and provides participants with an intensive weekend learning fun music under the direction of university faculty and music students. The trip will be done as 1-night tour. Trip cost is TBD, but will not exceed $300.

Tri-State Honor Band

The Utah State University Tri-State Band Symposium is a fast-paced musician's experience for selected High School students to work with distinguished faculty members and conductors at Utah State University. To audition, students will perform 2 random major scales in addition to any prepared quarterly etude after school on Friday, October 11th.
